The essence of Socrates’ ethics is seeking absolute truth. In this sense, ethics is not the same as morality. Morality is strongly associated with culture. Morality is closely related to personal behavior. For example, many cultures forbid females to bare breasts because morality. The Greek Aphrodite of Milos statue shows the contrary. Writer Michael Hart called this practice dual code of morality “Understanding Human History, M. Hart, page 41”. Within one society killing another person is a grievous sin. On the other hand, in a war killing members of another nation is encouraged to do.
