If you ask locals about why Tito could unite

the majority of Balkan, they would tell you because his father was a croatian, mother was a slovenian, and he married a serbian wife, haha. :))) That's a true fact.

However, most experts in Balkan/East Europe studies think that even if Tito had lived long enough through post cold war time, he could not hold Yugoslavia together from breaking apart. Different time, different focuses and tensions.

Albania was an interesting case though, when communism met Islam....
