The latest NBA all star fan voting results have been tallied, and not much has changed: Kobe Bryant is still the leading vote-getter, with 1,177,456 votes, while LeBron James is second with 1,151,304 votes. Jeremy Lin, meanwhile, is third in the western conference guards with 605,624 votes. He's trailing Chris Paul by about 50,000 votes.

The voting period ends on January 14th, and if Lin can overcome that 50,000 gap, he'll overtake Paul to start in the all star game alongside Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, and Kevin Durant.

If Lin doesn't beat Paul in votes, then he won't be in the all star game, because there is zero chance of coaches voting him in.

With the game being set in Houston and all, it would be nice for Rocket fans -- and Lin fans -- to have two Rockets present (Lin and James Harden), but 50,000 votes in nine days, while not a huge gap, isn't a small one either.

But never underestimate the power of Chinese voters, who managed to vote Yao Ming to start the all star game in 2003 when he was averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds at the time. Yao beat out Shaquille O'Neal, who was averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds.

NBA All-Star 2013 in Houston will bring together some of the most talented and passionate players in the league's history for a global celebration of the game. TNT will televise the All-Star Game for an 11th consecutive year, marking Turner Sports' 29th year of All-Star coverage. State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature the Shooting Stars, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, and Sprite Slam Dunk. Other events at NBA All-Star 2013 will include the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, and NBA All-Star Jam Session. The 2013 game will mark the third NBA All-Star celebration in Houston. The city also hosted the event in 1989 and in 2006.
