If you get w-2 at year end, yes you pay SS and FICA tax. If the total amount you pay is over the limit, there is a line of 1040 for that. You can get it back when you file tax (or pay less in tax you owe).

If you get 1099 at year end, on tax return you should pay double amount for SS and FICA as self-employment.
