Not that serious if you do not leave US.

The important thing is if you were taking full course study during that period. If so, do not worry, you will be reinstated.

The bad thing is you can not leave this country before you get your GC (AP does not work for you since you were out of status more than 180 days). It will be a long wait. Be prepared.
