in some states, even if the medical expense is covered by an insurance company, you can still recover the expense from the business who is liable. so your medical expense could be a lot more than just the co-pay and drugs. it may include fees charged by your doctor, the emergency room, etc. but I am not sure your state law. you need to check that yourself.
