请支招，骗子来了，怎么对付？

今天从一个TX的Contractor那里收到一张2500刀的支票。以前从未和此公司有过任何联系。甚至不知道有这么个公司的存在，收到支票上网查才知道。不知为什么邮支票给我。里面只有一个小纸条。上面写道：
Dear Payee.
Fellow the further instruction below.....
Immediately you are in the receipt of this payment. You should contact payment verify department below for further instruction and for you to clarify the payment you received

Failure to do so you will be hold responsible for any loss of money you will be hold responsible for that. Thanks........

头一次遇上这种情况，觉得很可怕。好像被黑道上的人盯上了似的。可我这穷人也没啥油水。为什么冲我来了呢？这支票估计是假的。问题是我我应该怎么处理这支票？要是置之不理会怎么样？
