加州的confidential marriage

No wedding, no ring, no vow, no ceremony (either civic or church), no presence in county/court/judge ......

之前断断续续同居大约两个月. 临时决定是基于某人只能在加州短暂停留.

在某notary填了confidential marriage license, 一周后收到confidential marriage certificate, 上面有个未谋面的marriage minister的签字.

之后12年, 种种原因, 两人同居一个国家的时间大约两年.

年轻力壮, 得两孩. 独自抚养. 其间到了加拿大, graduate school, 找工, 搬迁.

12年后的某人回复是不可能过来团聚, 只能算了.

等办妥了离婚, 教会也dissolve the relationship based on pauline privilege.

回过头来, 反而迷糊了, 这婚算正式结过吗? 如果不是, 费力离的倒是一套正式的手续, 加拿大什么事儿都得有板有眼的程序.

加州的同志给说说, 上述的confidential marriage certificate 是不是在加拿大合法.
