It sounds really fishy!!! I would act immediately.

Here is what I would do:

1 Protect first. Call all the three credit monitoring companies to put a block there so that no one can apply credit cards or loans using your identity.

2 Detect next. Find the official phone number of police department from the blue pages (for local government agencies) and verify what you experienced are really official.
