got a ticket (charge: right of way of pedestrian in crosswalk)

Dear XDJM,

I just got a ticket (charge: right of way of pedestrian in crosswalk, nature of offense: did not yield to Pedestrian in crosswalk causing a man w/a cane to step back). The police said that I almost hit a man. But it’s impossible, it’s a two-lane one-way road, I’m on the left lane, the man is on the right side.

This is the first time I get a ticket. What should I do? A. I plead not guilty and request a trial. B. I plead guilty. I want protect my driving record and insurance. Thanks.
