Got reported to collection company mistakenly

I was reported to a collection company by a service company i had.
I think it is the service company's fault. First, they made a mistake on my account, wrong bills. I emailed them asking them to correct and send me the right bill. They promised to do it in email but never did. Then they closed my account. I can't access my online account and never received any bills in email either.
Then I found out they referred to collection company and got something on my credit record.

Can i sue the service company?
