arrested or not?

Some years ago when my daughter came to this world, my wife got into some trouble. Some Americans called police when she screamed and physically attacked me, though they might not see the scene. When the police came to my apartment, they asked me and her many questions. But she did not answer any. Since she just had a baby (11 weeks old), those police could not make the decision and they called their supervisor who came later. They suspected my wife had postpartum depression. So, they called an ambulance and sent her to the emergency room. But, they did have handcuff on her. I am not sure if they took a picture for her and her figureprints in the police car since I stayed at home. And they also asked me to sign a form for my rights. I refused and I saw a word of "MISDEMEANOR" under her name. Then later, one police came back to my apartment and escorted me to the hospital. Two days later, she was discharged from the hospital. We did not get any paper or letters from the police, DA or court house.

So, I am not sure if she was arrested in this case or not. Your suggestion and help are highly appreciated!
