During 15 years marriage

we had many fights in the past, and he said to me all those bad things he could think about and he always calls me names. His boss always tells him tricks to deal with divorce, I really don't know what to think if the marriage won't work out. He is a nice man most of the time, but he can be very hurtful if things go against him. I want to work our marriage out, and hoping for the best, but the marriage is not only on my hands so I am trying to protect me at the same time.

So could you tell me if two people go divorce, is the property in marriage be shared equally or is based on whose name is under?
