Please Help! Capital Loss carryover for AMT?

Please help! I used TurboTax to fill the tax. It tells me I have to pay AMT! But when I do the error check, it find an error. I have Short-term Capital Losses carryover from 2005. Can I carryover this loss to the AMT? There is a item 12b(AMT Short-term capital loss) in the form "Carryover Worksheet" for AMT. TurboTax ask me to enter the number. Should I enter the same number in item 12a(Short-term captial loss) of the same form? I check the IRS doc for this form. But it doesnot say clearly how to fill this item. Why TurboTax can not fill this item automaticlly? Thanks!
