單身老貓 , please give some advice.

I was involved in an 3-car accident last year. A guy from local city water district hit another car from rear, which further hit my trunk. My case was solved with the insurance company from water district.

Today, I received a letter delivered personally to my house. The delivery boy said he was sending a deposition subpoena. I read the subpoena, it asked me to attend the court at certain time of the weekday. The reason is that the second car driver is suing the city water district for that accident.

My questions is that:
Do I need to attend? Can I reschedule another time?
Will it be considered a jury duty by my company?
