Subject: Re: HAS CW 11 TAKEN ANY DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST REPORTER CHRIS GLORIOSO FOR VIOLATIONS OF TRIBUNE COMPANY'S CODE OF BUSINESS CONDUCT?
Betty,
With due respect, your response makes no sense to me.
How can CW11 hold itself out as a socially responsible company when you cannot even confirm whether CW11 has conducted any internal investigation in accordance with Tribune Company’s Code of Business Conduct?
I understand that Chris Glorioso, as an employee of CW11, is entitled to certain privacy rights in not having his personnel file disclosed to the public at large. However, I have not asked you for a copy of Chris Glorioso’s personnel file. I am merely asking you whether CW11 has conducted any internal investigation? The answer is either “YES” or “NO”. Of course, you can choose to explain as much as you wish and elaborate on your “YES” or “NO” answer. There is no reason for you not to give, at minimum, a “YES” or “NO” answer, in light of the adverse consequence of Chris Glorioso’s “Fried Mice”/”Broccoli Mouse” reports to the Chinese restaurants as a group.
Please be reminded that, according to Tribune Company’s Code of Business Conduct (see attached copy), “Integrity” is one of the fundamental values to which Tribune Company (and, together with its subsidiaries, the "Company") is committed in carrying out its mission. Truth, objectivity, and independence are the foundation of Tribune’s business. They are the standards that every employee, officer and director should meet in all business conduct.
You also stated that , “The Code of Business Conduct is intended to help ensure compliance with the highest legal and ethical standards. It is the responsibility of every employee, officer and director of the Company to understand and adhere to the Code.”
Look forward to receiving a meaningful, straightforward response from you to my questions.
Sincerely,
Albert
