When you don't have any income, you are not required to file the tax return.

Since you are a F visa holder, you must file Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.

Nonresident aliens generally can claim only a personal exemption for themselves on their U.S. tax return, unless you are residents of Mexico, Canada, Japan, or the Republic of Korea.
