You don't need to go to law school for the job. There is actually a need for all the top firms of Chinese speaking paralegals. You English needs to be good, but not great. You are not required to draft legal documents. As long as you can communicate with lawyers in a reasonable fashion and understand the assignments, you will be fine.
The difficult part is to find an entry point. People can stay on this job for ever if so they choose. If you had a law degree in China, it will be very helpful to land a job. Try to get a job at a smaller firm, then you can move to bigger firms easily. There is always a need for paralegals.
