Go to a small claims court to fight for your right. I don't think you have any other way to get your damage recovered. But collect as much evidence in your favor as possible before you go to the court. The insurance company may back down if you get serious. BTW, a few thousand dollars is small peanuts to the insurance company. The judge may be on your side. You don't need a lawyer to represent you in a small claims court. Good luck!
