medical dispute

I had dispute with hospital regarding a bill of 2000. I am not sure what they are going to do. I assume they will give the case to collecting agency or sue me.

My question is :

1. I am planning to apply for morgage for my house. Is that affected my morgage rate? I heard hospital usually reported to credit bureau to destroy my credit score. Is that true?

2. What is going to affect me for my life?
