Now the car is drivable, without any problem to put gear in any position (P, D, R N).

I forgot to mention that there is another message saying "Trans Failsafe Prog". It is sometimes on, sometimes off. The BMW dealer check results said "Transmission converter excessive slip, open blocked". The guy told me that if not repaired now, the problem will become more serious, finally will be down. He is suggesting to rebuild the transmission.

I have not yet gone to another shop for a second opinion.

Any idea/advice is highly appreciated.
