Help needed for I-485

My wife applied her I-140 and I-485, as well as my I-485(spouse) one month ago. Right now, my company's attorny will file my I-140 and I-485 form, I didn't tell them that my wife have submitted my I-485 as her spouse. I want to continue to submit my I-140 and I-485. When one case is approved first, I will cancel another one. I'm wondering, is there any problem or illegal thing for us to file I-485 TWICE? Any suggestion will be greated appreciated.Thanks a lot.
