about AP

I applied AP, and used once. when I came back to US last Oct., the officer at the custom stamped "paroled until Oct. 10, 2004" on the AP form. Do you know whether I can use this form for re-entry before Oct. this year? AP usually will be expired after one year, but what is the actual start point for counting, the application date or the first re-entry date?
