Help with Tax problem.

Last year, I worked on O-1 visa, and my wife worked on F1-OPT for 9 months, and H-1 for the last three months. As a student from China, my wife is entitled to the $5000 income tax exemption under Article 20. My question is: can she file tax with me jointly and still claim the exemption?
