大家看看我需不需要赔钱:

由于家庭原因, 我需要换工作去其他州. 现在公司为我申请的绿卡程序就作废了. 我现在还在等labor certificate的阶段(在backlog office), 所以放弃也不算太可惜. 但是公司要我赔办绿卡的钱, 因为我和公司的合同上说如果绿卡拿到后一年内跳槽, 要赔100%, 两年75%, 依此类推. 原文如下:
Employee agrees that if he/she terminates employment before the Employee completes four years of employment with ABC company (following receipt of Permanent Residency), Employee will be responsible for repaying ABC company based on the following schedule:

100% of amount of Immigration Costs ABC company paid if he/she terminates employment prior to the first anniversary of employment with ABC (following receipt of Permanent Residency).

75% of amount of Immigration Costs ABC company paid if he/she terminates employment between the first and second anniversary of employment with ABC (following receipt of Permanent Residency).

公司要我赔$3500, 真的好多. 大家看看按照合同我是否可以说我根本没拿到Permanent Residency, 所以不需要赔. 如果我不赔, 他们可以起诉我吗? 十分感谢你的建议
