Use an accountant or buy a computer software for tax return?

Which way is better? we only have a house, salary, bank interest, mortgage, donations to church and organizations, union dues, day care cost, etc. I used to use taxact and turbo tax. My hu*****and isn't sure about my ability. I'm not good at money money management and lose money all the time(purse got stolen last month). My hu*****and is more careful so he suggests we use an accountant. I think it's not worth it when I have to put all the information together and the accountant just inputs the figures. He said they know more about tax saving tips. What do you think? Which soft ware do you recommend? Thanks a lot.
