May I sue the homedepot?

今天下大雨,1500平尺的地下室进水地毯全湿。I found It's because 地下室的抽水装置的电源 does not plug in. I hired homedepot installed the carpet on August. The workers took off the sump and plug in their radio. They forgot put the sump on and I did not find this until today. I have not any evidences about this, but I believe it's true. My sump worked very well before, nobody in my house tauched it. In this case, may I ask homedepot repair the carpet for me? or sue them?
