tax for housing appreciation

Hi there:

I sold my house at the beginning of this year, and got some appreciation. I didn't pay the tax(only one year as primary residence) because I relocated to another state due to job change.

Now I want to relocate back within one year(I stayed in the new place for 10 months). Can anyone tell me if I need to pay the tax for the appreciation?
