about my court day, pls help

hello, could anyone help me this my case?
I got caught by speeding (really shouldn't) then the cop said my license was suspended last year because insurance company said I have gap between insurance .....anyway, we paid the bond. the next day, bought all insurance document and letter from my new agent to department of public safety and got my license back.

then I set a court day, they gave me a note says "if you plead not guilty on your arraignment date, your case will be rescheduled for trial by the judge" does it mean even if the cop didn't show up on that day, I will be rescheduled for trial? what is "for trial" really means? Do I need a lawyer at that point? I have the evendience from insurance company and the prove of department of public safety, would the judge still put me guilty if s/he isn't in good mood?

what about the speeding ticket? would be be both case together to say guilty or not? thanks for all your help
