It really depends on yr new

employer. If the new employer is very careful on the legal issue, they will aquire yr paystub to prove that you're not out of status. Same thing happened to me few yrs ago when I tried to transfer my h-1b, eventually I have to reapply H-1B coz my new employer wouldn't do the transfer without current pay stub (well, they did wait for me)
