My American friend told me that he forgot to pay tax for his 2000 dollars of interest. Then IRS found it out, then they sent him a letter to notify that he should pay a certain amount of tax for the 2000 dollars. Then he paid the tax, then everything is O.K.

So Do not worry. If they send you the notice, just pay it. Or you can mail them a check.
