It's only pre-trial. If you want to make it easy, just appeal guilty at the court, pay the fine, then request traffic school at local to avoid any point in your record.
If you have time, appeal not-guilty, request real trial. You need to go to court again some time later. If the police officer doesn't show, you win, no fine, no traffic school.
