Not on w-2. If you itemized in 2003 and got a state refund for 2003 return, this refund is taxable on your 2004 return. If you choose not to get a check for 2003 refund but to apply to 2004, you can use the refund amount to pay your 2004 tax (off-set 2004 tax).
