no credit history. Help!!!

Recently I was turned down when I applied America Exp credid card. The reason is they can't find my credit history. I am surprised because I have and use the credit card of bank of america for 3 years, How can I have no credit history. Is it because my card is the additional card of my hus. When he apply the card for me, he did't tell the bank my SSN. Then what can I do now? If I give bank of america my SSN, can I have the last 3 years credit? Then I can apply for a credit card
myself independently?
