want to sue a lawyer

I hired an attorney recently, he lied about his background and I hired him by mistake. I lost a chance to possibly win my case. Also the lawyer made some inflated hours in his bill. can I sue him malpractice? if yes, how easy/difficult is it? I was looking for another attorney to sue this crook, but it seems nobody is interested since what is at stake is just about $30,000.I am in New Jersey. Any information is appreciated.
