QUestion about vacant notice in CA

Sent 60 days vacant to tenant last week, question is that do the tenbant need to notify me when they are moving, or they can just move out on any day during the 60 days period, and how rent should be calculated? I got notice from utility company that service is being canceled during weekend but haven't heard from tenant.
The property is in CA, not under rent control.
