A quick question: Do I need to bear any personal liability from

I am owner of MA LLC.  I hired an inpdendent contractor last year.  Now he was sued for stealing materials from his ex-employer.  My LLC was also sued in a civil suit.  My question is: Do I need to bear any personal liability from hiring this contrator by my LLC? I mean if my personal asset will be seized if the my LLC loses the civil suit. Many thanks.
