我LP要给她的一个亲戚担保绿卡

这个亲戚, 六七十岁, 癌症患者,好象在国内治疗过, 现在没复发.
亲戚的子女没工作, 没收入,所以要ask my wife to do the joint 担保.
whats the consequence if soemthing happens?
i dont want her to do that, what should I do to stop her?
