Is there a time limit for serving divorce paper in California?

Please help with a question.  Already got the divorce petition paper from a California Court and had to serve the correspondent==the spouse.  Anyone knows if there's a time limit to serve the paper? Do you have to serve him or her within one month or a year, or something like that? can't find the answer online.
