How to report 1099-MISC income?

I have a question about reporting income from box 7 of 1099-misc. My wife is a medical resident and she was doing moonlighting in a private physician group and received some income reported as nonemployee compensation in box 7 of this form. She is not an employee there, so we can't ask the employer to change the form to a W2. We don't have a business so this should not be considered as small business income. Other income (line 21) in federal form 1040 only covers income in box 3 and 8 of form 1099-misc. So, how should we report this? Any insights will be greatly appreicated. Thanks a lot!
