Assuming you financed the car through a bank, not a dealer, it will be the bank, not the dealer, to get repossession of the car. The bank will try to sell it or auction it off. If the auction price is not enough to pay back the loan, the bank may sue you for the balance. However it can collect is a separate issue. The bank may also negotiate a new term of the loan with you if it is nice.
