In US, inheritance is not part of 共同财产, unless the the person

mixed the inheritance with his other properties. For example, if she inherited a house, just rent it out and never use her family money to maintain (repair, tax) the house. The house will be hers only. However, if her family moved into the house, the house will become 共同财产, eventually.
