请问单身老猫 about a work zone speed ticket (criminal charge)

单身老猫:

I got a highway construction zone speed ticket with punition 700$
(my speed is 74, but the zone speed limit is 55) about two years ago. I hired a lawyer to try to dismiss the ticket with 300$ lawyer fee for Trail By Judge (Bench). My lawyer said that the COURT should not go to trail and dismiss my ticket.

But Today, I receive a notice from Justice of the Peace Court for attending
a Pre-Trial Hearing. It is the first time for me to deal with law issue.

Is there anyone having similar experience?

Any suggestion?
