I drove in wrong direction (a single way) and stopped at the intersection and caught by a policeman in NY (nearby Chinese Embassy), he let me go ... because I was very polite and cooperative, which will not always save me.

1.申请NOT guilty
2.plead in the court.

And the result will definitely be: less than 200 fines and ... depending on how well you prepare for the hearing.
