Ambiguous wording in contract

A warehoue storage contract stating $x per unit for bimonthly period.
I interpreted "bimonthly" as every 2 months (As a matte of fact,I did not know the second meaning until too late.), while the warehouse said it meant very half month. How an ambiguous word like this to be comprehended leagally?
