专利 -- Consultancy needed

I have an invention but it relates to the product my company current produces. I don’t think I should give the invention to company since I didn’t use any company’s resources to do it. People suggest me use my wife’s name to apply patent. Does anybody know if it is totally legal? If not, how to bypass it? Chinese have been exploited too much here and I only want to get what I deserve. It is no big deal for me to quit the job.
