奥黛丽.赫本主演的Breakfast at Tiffany's乃经典好片。当派拉蒙电影公司聘请默瑟和Mancini为《蒂凡尼的早餐》，创作一首歌时, 默瑟将他的歌词融进Mancini简洁的旋律。 
赫本并非唱歌出名，但她演唱了这首歌，在电影中她甜美地轻弹浅唱着，充满了对简单生活的浪漫向往。
 不过，起初这歌儿并没有给电影工作室留下深刻的印象。 按Mancini的说法，派拉蒙影业公司的总裁观看了这部电影的早期预览，并宣布他们应该删除这首歌。  通常温柔的赫本坚定地告诉他，除非从她的尸体上走过！ 最终呢，电影与  《月亮河》大获成功并热卖。赫本为自己和她的歌曲挺身而出做了件好事，为后人留下一首美丽的歌曲。

1962年，曼奇尼Henry Mancini和默瑟Johny Mercer 凭借《月亮河》获得奥斯卡最佳电影歌曲奖。奥黛丽的月亮河也获得Grammy年度歌曲奖。
