"Take a Chance on Me" is a song by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released in January 1978 as the second single from their fifth studio album ABBA: The Album. The song has been featured on a number of ABBA compilations such as Gold: Greatest Hits.
 
"Take A Chance On Me" was born from a rhythm that Björn Ulvaeus used to repeat while jogging. It was his hobby and the rhythm helped him to keep pace.
 
This song was one of their most successful in charts in the UK being their seventh number-one hit in the country. It was also number one in Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Mexico; Top-3 in Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Rhodesia, Switzerland, and the USA; Top 10 in France, Norway and South Africa.
