如果说小时候玩过的什么最好玩，，，那当然是弹球了（玻璃球）。小学时曾经非常痴迷，甚至课间休息短短的十五分钟时间都是在玩弹球中度过的。

有一次我甚至为了弹球闯了大祸。那时妈妈经常和同事们在闲暇时间玩跳棋，而我对跳棋棋盘上的弹子“偷窥”了很长时间了。有一天终于忍不住“偷”了五六个弹球拿去和狐朋狗友们在外面玩，，，没想到输了个精光。后来妈妈问我说跳棋少了弹子，问我知不知道去向，我直摇头说不知道，妈妈也就没有再追究。至今每次提起这事我都觉得很愧对妈妈，不过妈妈每次都是一笑而过。

说起妈妈，她出身于宝鸡的农村，解放时因为外公家有过地雇过短工而被评为地主成分。她高中是在宝鸡市的一个重点中学上的，在班上学习非常优秀却因为身份原因未能上大学，成为她一生的遗憾。但她是个自强不息的姑娘，无论干什么事都非常出色认真！后来她凭着自己的努力和自学当上了县中的化学老师！还教过我初中一个学期的化学课呢！

说到水果，我们那时根本就没见过芒果（只见过芒果牌香烟），香蕉也只是宝鸡市才有。有一次在市里逛的时候小姨给我买了一根香蕉（太贵了），我高兴滴要命！由于太兴奋，剥好的香蕉滑落在刚刚下过雨的泥地上，全弄脏了，吃都没吃到，太可惜了！不过宝鸡农村在冬天也有自己好吃的水果，，，那就是火红的小柿子！又水灵又好吃，可惜现在吃不到了！

好了，回到这首歌来，大家来看看词作者Tom Jones 是怎么说这首歌的：

"I guess I felt that September is a time of passage from the romanticism of youth to realism. One moves from the over-statement of summer to the clarity of winter. I wouldn't be a youthful, romantic person again for anything in the whole wide world."
