didn't your insurance state what they think its worth?
for all medical bills, your insurance company should mail you a statement of explanation of benefit (EOB)for the charge: what the hospital/doctor wants to charge, what the insurance company thinks of its real value based on their contract, what insurance company actually paid, and your responsible part. The most ridiculous bill I ever received was $16,000 and I waited for the EOB to arrive - I paid zero!
